Hoag physicians are prioritizing midlife with comprehensive, evidence-based care.
With support from philanthropy, Hoag is deepening its commitment to women’s health care for every age and phase of life with a new menopause program, scheduled to launch early next year. Because menopause deserves more time and attention than an annual exam allows, the program will focus on dedicated menopause appointments for in-depth assessments of women’s individual needs. The Hoag menopause team, which will include Menopause Society Certified Practitioners (MSCPs), will provide personalized guidance on hormone therapy, nutrition, exercise, stress management, sleep hygiene, and more to support a smoother and more comfortable menopause transition while addressing women’s long-term health concerns.
The program will function as a synchronized network of experts across the Hoag health system, providing coordinated care and reaching more women than one stand-alone clinic—and with fewer waitlists. This model will also give patients greater access to specialists and subspecialists, including cardiologists, endocrinologists, rheumatologists, pelvic floor physical therapists, sex therapists, and many others. Hoag MSCPs will collaborate with specialists to ensure women receive the right referral at the right time, expediting their care journey and bolstering their confidence in their health at midlife.
Beyond individual appointments, program events and educational initiatives will empower women throughout the community with knowledge about the menopause transition. Armed with accurate information and realistic expectations—and free from common myths about menopause—women can proactively manage their health.
