After much anticipation, the new café on Hoag’s Sun Family Campus in Irvine is now offering a fresh selection of fare to visitors and staff. As the hospital expands, the Marketplace Café in the Du Family Hospital Pavilion is bringing a vibrant new dining experience to the heart of the campus. Designed with an inviting, modern layout, the café features a variety of meals and snacks. 

“Our food and nutrition team at Hoag believe that great honest food, served in a beautifully designed space should be accessible and affordable to everyone, every day on site,” said Sheetal Khanna, RD, Senior Director Food & Nutrition Services at Hoag. 

“Everything we have created, from the food to the space and from the ambiance to the people behind each station, is designed to bring you a unique dining experience.” 

The café offers a wide range of options, including freshly made salads, an action station for entrées like pasta tossed to order, a grill with burgers and sandwiches, as well as a pizza, panini, and deli bar. 

With ample seating throughout, the spacious interior makes it an ideal spot for taking a break, coming together with others, or simply enjoying a moment of relaxation. 

The Jeanette Bertea Hennings family made a generous philanthropic gift to Hoag, and in recognition of her enduring support, her name was displayed in the café prior to the expansion. Now, in the newly renovated space, her legacy continues to be honored through the naming in the dining facilities, reflecting the family's lasting impact on the community.
