Celebrating Hoag Donors and Volunteers

The evening honored outstanding volunteer leaders and philanthropic partners with the Vin Jorgensen Awards

The Hoag Hospital Foundation recognized its leading philanthropists and volunteer leaders at the annual Donor Appreciation and Awards Dinner held on September 19th at the Newport Beach Country Club.

“Together, we have accomplished so much,” said Cynthia Stokke, chairman, Hoag Hospital Foundation Board of Directors. “I want to thank each one of you in this room for all that you have done for Hoag last year, in years past and for all that we will do together in the future.”

She shared that as of September 2017, the Hoag Promise Campaign has raised $471 million of the $627 million goal by 2020

“From the earliest days of Hoag, we’ve had the privilege of being recipients of this community's generosity,” said Robert Braithwaite, president and chief executive officer of Hoag. “Tonight, we honor you. We express our genuine appreciation and gratitude for your generosity and for your compassion to your fellow community members and for your outward expressions of support to nurses, physicians, technicians and support staff who are the beneficiaries of your kindness, talent and resources.”

Hoag Hospital Foundation President, Flynn Andrizzi, Ph.D., then introduced the Vin Jorgensen Awards, established in 1992 in honor of one of Hoag’s most distinguished leaders. Vin Jorgensen served as a member of the Hoag Hospital Foundation Board of Directors from its founding until his passing in 1988. He was also one of the founding members of the 552 Club.
