Outstanding Leadership
Michael Brant-Zawadzki, MD FACR, Executive Medical Director of Neurosciences
Leading the growth of Hoag’s Neurosciences Center is Michael Brant-Zawadzki, MD FACR. With extensive experience in Neurodiagnostics and endovascular neurointervention, 15 years as Medical Director of Radiology at Hoag, and an international reputation in Neuroradiology, Dr. Brant-Zawadzki is uniquely suited to envision and develop the Hoag Hoag Neurosciences Center.
Dr. Brant-Zawadzki earned his undergraduate degree from Stanford University, and his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati, College of Medicine, where he received the Hoffheimer prize, awarded to the top graduating medical student. He trained in radiology and neuroradiology at Stanford University Medical Center, after which he spent six years on the Neuroradiology faculty at the University of California San Francisco. He has authored and co-authored more than 180 papers in professional journals, 17 textbooks and a large number of book chapters.
Dr. Brant-Zawadzki lectures nationally and internationally and is a consultant to industry in the imaging, pharmaceutical, and informatic fields. He is a member of multiple professional societies serves on the editorial board of many professional publications including JAMA (Journal of the American Medical Association) and the American Journal of Neuroradiology. He has received the Gold Medal from the Society of Magnetic Resonance in Medicine for pioneering achievements in magnetic resonance imaging. In addition to his work at Hoag, Dr. Brant-Zawadzki also holds an Adjunct Clinical Professorship in Neuroradiology at Stanford University.
