Hoag Hospital Foundation Celebrates Summer With Annual Movie Screening Event
30 Restaurants and 1,000 supporters raise funds for Hoag Hospital Newport Beach and Hoag Hospital Irvine
Newport Beach, CA (August 5, 2011) – The Hoag Hospital Foundation 552 Club announced this year’s Movie Screening raised approximately $172,000 for Hoag Hospital Newport Beach and Hoag Hospital Irvine. More than 1,000 physicians, nurses, patients and staff gathered together to enjoy one of the summer’s most eagerly anticipated events, featuring 30 of Orange County’s finest restaurants at Big Newport Edwards Theatre.
“The Hoag Movie Screening is one of my favorite events of the year," said Robert K. Adams, Jr. chair of the event. “We enjoy meeting with friends, trying some of the best food and a movie while raising awareness and support for our hospitals.”
For the first time, there was a range of gluten-free, diabetic and heart-healthy options from the chefs of Fit Foods 4 Life, Daily Grill of Fashion Island, Newport Rib Company, Onotria Wine Country Cuisine, Sage, Santa Monica Seafood, Quattro Caffe and Wildfish Seafood Grille. The Newport Beach Firefighters and the Bluewater Grill and Oyster Bar were back for their 24th year of participating.
The sold-out summer event was underwritten and attended by Allan and Sandy Fainbarg, Steven Fainbarg, The Arnold Feuerstein Family in loving memory of Ruth Feuerstein, Greater Newport Physicians, Sterling BMW, Betty and Melvin Hoeffliger, Marilyn W. McIntyre, Mara and Keith Murray, Sally and Raymond Gipple, Jim and Glenys Slavik, Lauri and Steve Delson and family, Gerald T. Gostanian, Roger Kirwan, MD, Tonia M. Maralle, MD, Deborah and Henry Mayhew. The Frome Foundation underwrote the event.

Adams, Jr. and his wife, Billie; Ilona Martin, president of the 552 Club; Kyle Wescoat; Karen Linden, president of Hoag Foundation Board and her husband, Tom; Bob and Terry Callahan; Doug Meece; Pame Schmider; Roger Kirwan; Mark Hardtke; Janis Dinwiddie; Terri Turner and her husband, Bill Brownson; Marcus Berry; Tyler and Pamela Terry; Rosalie Puleo; and Arlene Key.
The main event was a private screening of Crazy Stupid Love starring Steve Carell, Ryan Gosling and Julianne Moore.
