Advanced Cardiac Imaging Center
The application of the latest diagnostic and imaging techniques is critical to improving patient health, wellness, heart disease prevention, and clinical outcomes. The Advanced Cardiac Imaging Center will focus on using technology to reduce the risk of heart disease and not merely detecting the disease's presence. We will use non-invasive techniques to more quickly acquire higher resolution images for more accurate diagnosis, which will enhance early detection in asymptomatic patients with high or intermediate risk factors. We will also emphasize further integration of the Emergency Care Department, Cardiology and Radiology for optimum outcomes particularly in emergency cardiac care.
Priorities for Philanthropic Support
- Endowed Chair to recruitment the Advanced Cardiac Imaging Medical Director
- Imaging equipment upgrade and replacement including a combined PET/CT unit (imaging of both the structure and metabolic activity) and the Toshiba 256 slice scanner that dramatically improves diagnosis of coronary artery disease.
- Recruitment and retention endowments for key physicians and nurses
- Capital funding for construction of the Critical Care Tower.
