About Joan & Andy Fimiano Emergency Pavilion

The Fiminano Emergency Pavilion is a complete transformation from the former Hoag Emergency Department. The large room with curtained off beds is now a group of five distinct treatment suites, each with 10 to 12 private rooms. Each suite is staffed with a dedicated team that includes an ER physician, four to six nurses, emergency medical technicians and clerical and registration staff. They work together as a true integrated team and this increases their efficiency.

All of the improvements are designed to flow patients quickly and efficiently to the appropriate level of care. For example, the new patient tracking system allows staff to track a patient’s admission status, the status of lab and imaging tests and whether a patient is in the room or out getting imaging – all by glancing at a centralized monitor. In addition, the Fimiano Emergency Pavilion is designed with comfort and calm in mind with beautiful décor and soothing colors.
