About Hoag Neurosciences Institute

Orange County residents are actively engaged in their community, businesses and families. Many don’t retire, and continue to be involved in community organizations, clubs, or sit on Boards of Directors. Hoag hopes to keep the residents healthy and mentally active with healthcare services for the brain and spine from the newest institute: The Hoag Neurosciences Institute.

The Hoag Neurosciences Institute brings together a multidisciplinary team of medical experts who provide a spectrum of neurological care at the new, integrated neuro-specialty facility. From wellness and education, to acute care, and chronic diseases, HNI provides patients with quality care in the following area:

  • Stroke and Brain Vascular Disease
  • Brain Tumor
  • Alzheimer’s and other dementia, memory disorders
  • Neurobehavioral Program
  • Movement Disorders and Epilepsy
  • Sleep Disorders
  • Voice and Swallowing

With a stroke program that ranks in the top five percent in the U.S. and the largest volume brain tumor program in Orange County, Hoag Neurosciences Institute is an outstanding community resource. Hoag Neurosciences Institute was the first organization in the U.S. to be funded to launch a community-based Vital Aging program. As a result, Hoag’s Orange County Vital Aging Program helps our community members measure their risk for Alzheimer’s disease and take proactive steps to prevent it.

Leading the growth of Hoag’s Neurosciences Institute is Michael Brant-Zawadzki, MD, FACR, executive medical director and holder of the Judy & Richard Voltmer Endowed Chair. With an international reputation in Neuroradiology, Dr. Brant-Zawadzki is uniquely suited to envision and develop the Hoag Neurosciences Institute.
