Director's Message
Looking back over the past year, support of Hoag Hospital through the Foundation continues as an extremely valuable resource with a profound affect on our ability to complete our mission to "provide the highest quality healthcare services." This broad base of community support generates funding that allows Hoag Hospital to attract the people, technology and build facilities that "transform the lives we touch."
People throughout the community - major philanthropists, volunteers, and annual donors participate in the life of Hoag Hospital through the Foundation. The success of our events like The Toshiba Classic, the Christmas Carol Ball and Circle 1000 raise funds to help develop programs that serve patients today and for many tomorrows to come.
Two great examples of new programs developed this year with philanthropic support include the Hoag Heart Valve Center and the soon to be opened, Marion Knott Nursing Education Center. In total, the Foundation transferred nearly $15 million directly to the hospital providing a margin of excellence in 20 different departments.
The vision for Hoag Hospital is one of continuous improvement and growth to meet the changing healthcare services required by our communities. Philanthropy has been an integral part of the first 50+ years of Hoag Hospital and we anticipate it will be even more important in the years ahead.
